Week Ten Podcast for TCFGs

Has it really been over 400 days since Mike Gundy gave us a quality tirade?

Join The College Football Guys for our latest podcast! This week we discuss the outcome of two great games, Texas/Oklahoma State and Penn State/Ohio State. Who do we think will beat Alabama or Penn State this year? Can anyone make sense of the Big East or ACC? How bad did the SEC stub its toe this weekend?

Plus we preview of this weekend's biggest games. "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" - Florida/Georgia and has Lubbock, TX EVER seen a bigger game than when Colt McCoy's Longhorns come to town on Saturday?

  1. Just got finished listening to this week's podcast and I had a thought regarding the Big Ten and the possibility of the conference extending the season or having a championship game. Basically, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE! The only reason they can do that sort of thing down south is because of the weather. Try playing a game in December in Wisconsin or East Lansing. It would be brutally cold. If anything, its unfair that the other conferences can keep playing in December, but I don't want to be a wet blanket and complain. Bottom line, you guys are right... comparing the Big Ten champion to the SEC or Big 12 champion is like comparing apples to oranges. The Big Ten champ has too much time off, but that is dictated by the weather, not by the Big Ten. No wonder OSU got killed the last two years. Just my two cents...

  2. I think it is possible for the Big Ten to have a championship game. There is at least three indoor stadiums they could play it in, Indy, Minnesota, and Detroit. The Big 12 plays in a cold, outdoor Kansas City stadium every three years or so.

However I don't think they need to. Maybe just some later games in the season.

My argument with Championship games is that if you want to take the cash that comes from it don't complain if the game costs you a BCS Championship bid. Or complain about those that don't have a championship game.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.
